Leadership Coaching for Creative and Values-Led Leaders

Leadership coaching with Amber Grothe supports founders, facilitators, artists and professionals who want to lead with more clarity without becoming disconnected from their values, body or creativity. It is a space to examine the choices, relationships and inner patterns that shape how you lead.

This is not a generic management programme. The work starts with your real situation: a difficult decision, an evolving role, tension in a collaboration, a boundary that needs attention or the pressure of carrying responsibility.

Leadership that still feels like you

Leadership can become noisy. Expectations, deadlines and other people’s needs make it easy to react before you have understood what matters. Amber helps you slow down the pattern, distinguish urgency from importance and find a response that is both grounded and workable.

The sessions combine reflective conversation with tools from embodiment, social design and creative process. This helps you notice not only what you think about a situation, but also how you organise attention, avoid conflict, hold power and communicate under pressure.

Questions we can explore

  • How do I make this decision without abandoning my values?
  • How can I communicate a boundary clearly and respectfully?
  • What is my responsibility, and what belongs to someone else?
  • How do I lead a creative process without controlling it?
  • What happens to my confidence when the stakes become higher?
  • How can I build a way of working that is sustainable for me and my team?

From a complex situation to a clear experiment

We begin by mapping the situation: the people involved, the visible problem, the assumptions underneath it and the outcome you hope to create. Amber may use drawing, spatial mapping, embodied observation or a focused dialogue to make the system easier to see.

Rather than forcing an instant solution, we look for the smallest meaningful shift. That might be a conversation to prepare, a role to clarify, a decision criterion, a different meeting structure or a personal practice that changes how you enter a difficult moment. You leave with a concrete experiment and a clearer understanding of what you are testing.

Amber’s background as a facilitator and social designer

Amber is an artist, social designer and workshop facilitator with a Bachelor in Fine Arts and a Master’s in Holistic Science. She has designed and facilitated creative learning processes in cultural, educational and international contexts, including collaborations with TU Delft and organisations working with participation, culture and self-development.

Her approach to leadership grows from this practical experience: holding a group while staying responsive, creating enough structure for people to participate and recognising when a process needs direction or space. She brings an artist’s eye for possibility and a facilitator’s attention to relationships.

Who this coaching is for

This page is for people who already carry responsibility or are stepping into it: creative entrepreneurs, project leaders, facilitators, educators, founders and professionals working in values-led organisations. You do not need to fit a corporate definition of leadership. You may be leading a team, a collaboration, a community, a programme or your own independent practice.

If your main question is personal rather than leadership-related, Life Coach Rotterdam is the broader starting point. For a creative project or block, visit Creative Coaching.

Format and location

Leadership coaching is available one-to-one in Amber’s Rotterdam studio and online. Bring one live situation, not a polished story. A single session can create clarity around a specific decision; a series can support a longer change in role, collaboration or way of working. Current availability, format and fees are discussed before booking.

Frequently asked questions

Is this business consultancy?

No. Amber does not deliver a standard organisational solution. The focus is your leadership, choices and way of working inside the real system you are part of.

Can I bring a conflict or team situation?

Yes. One-to-one coaching can help you understand your position, prepare communication and choose a responsible next step. The other people involved do not attend the session.

Do I need a formal leadership title?

No. If people, resources or a shared process depend on your choices, you are already practising leadership.
