Last week we have created a beautiful space in the studio for a photoshoot, to capture me in my essence, surrounded by my colourful, handmade Art & Design! 👩🏼‍🎨 Getting ready for the next exhibitions and open ateliers ✨☺️. (Dutch Design Week 2024, @grootrotterdamsatelierweekend and more)

In my work and my life I have personal mission and I always feel a sense of activism.

A bit/part of the story behind me and my work that I would like to share;
I am striving for more equality for womxn, researching my personal story as a woman in this world and trying to live in a new way, creating a new narrative for myself after a traumatic and suppressed youth.✨

Consciously creating space to follow my heart, finding my place, not making myself small anymore. With this challenging and confronting path I hope to inspire more women to shine, to show up as themselves, fully and authentically. With all our feelings, intuition and crazy movements.🌟🦁🌈🌞

You are welcome, you are free to shine your colours into the world! By pondering on all of this I feel and know my privilege as a woman being born in the western world, especially in the Netherlands and I feel grateful & ready to create, connect and shine even more☺️!

I have been diving into my identity as a young female artist in this society, how do I position myself? Where can I add meaningful value to our world, environment and the life of other beings? Bigger questions are coming up in waves and my work is flowing and growing together with my inner stirrings ✨.

In my current artistic practice I am researching my Feminine Ancestry in textiles.
•
My grandmother and mother come from a lineage of textile creativity and work with traditional crafts. I want to understand how I can proceed with these traditional textile crafts as an act of gentle resistance & change in a world where screens, efficiency and online presence seem to be growing so rapidly.

These paintings are a zoom-in view on the structures and esthetics of textiles of mine.
•
They are a research on how I want to show the importance of maintaining traditional crafts, handwork and knowledge passed on by our ancestors 🌱🌿 Also, I am just flowing, loving the creative process and enjoying the journey through colours, forms and materials so so much🌞! 🌸
